C-Frame Hydraulic Press

A C-frame hydraulic press is one whose body traces the letter C in side view: the front and both sides are open and the ram is guided on a single body. The open gap gives three-way access to the die, which makes part feeding, die clamping and visual checks easy.

Where is it the right choice?

For mid-tonnage cutting, punching, forming, riveting, press-fitting and sizing work the C-frame is economical and practical. Its value is felt most on bench work where the operator feeds parts by hand; if automation is added, robots reach the die freely from the front and the sides.

Where is its limit?

A C body carries the force on one side only; as tonnage grows the gap is forced open and frame deflection shows up as die parallelism error. High-tonnage deep drawing and precision moulding therefore move to a closed frame — the H-frame body. The limit is not a single number: part size, off-centre die load and the tolerance you need decide it together.

How it maps to ÖZKOÇ naming

The market name "C-frame" corresponds to the open-front form of what ÖZKOÇ calls the monoblock (single-piece welded) body. Whichever name you use in your enquiry, we are talking about the same structure; the press is not picked from a catalogue — tonnage, bolster and stroke are calculated for your part. See the press glossary for naming and the FAQ for the C-vs-H comparison.
